Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida, one of the largest and most popular theme parks, is part of three themed parks in Universal Orlando Resort.

At Universal Studios Florida, state-of-the-art rides, shows, and attractions bring your favorite movies, television shows, and more to life.

It is similar to seeing your favorite TV episodes and movies in person, except for more extreme twists, turns, and drops. 

First opened in 1990, it houses around ten rides, more than a dozen shows, nearly 30 restaurants, many indoor and outdoor play spaces, several food carts, many shop kiosks and more than 30 different stores. 

Each of its eight zones features a theme based on a popular movie franchise, television series or real-life place.

Here’s a list of rides and attractions for your convenience and understanding.

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Join this unpredictable adventure with Gru, his daughters, and the mischievous Minions. 

Your trip begins at Gru’s house, where you enlist in his most recent plot to turn you into an actual Minion. 

However, when things don’t go as planned, you’re on an incredible journey inside his supervillain laboratory.

As you navigate every curve, Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes will accompany you.

After the ride, an interactive dance party with a Minion theme keeps the chuckles coming. 

Show off your best moves on the dance floor; family entertainment is touching and fun.

Height restrictions: 40 inches (102 cm). A supervising adult must accompany children between 40 and 48 inches (102 and 122 cm).

E.T. Adventure

Hop on a bike with E.T. and sprint around town to help him save his dying world.

Reach his magical planet by crossing the city lights and the silver moon. Soon, you’ll encounter incredible creatures greeting you.

Height restrictions: 34 inches (87 cm). A supervising adult must accompany children between 34 and 48 inches (87 and 122 cm).

Visit Universal Studios Florida and have a crazy ride with “the family!” 

The Fast & Furious-themed attraction includes vehicle replicas and other items transporting you to action-packed flicks.

This 3D dark ride also features characters from the movie franchise, including Dom and Mia Toretto.

Harry Potter and the Escape from the Gringotts

On this multi-dimensional thrill coaster, descend deep below Diagon Alley’s well-known fire-breathing dragon. 

You’ll meet Harry, Ron, and Hermione while avoiding the wrath of Voldemort, Bellatrix, trolls, and other obstacles in the way of a safe return to Diagon Alley.

The five-minute experience includes physical effects, elaborate scenery, moving vehicles and 3D projection displays.

Height restrictions: 42 inches (107 cm)

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

Discover the first non-inverting loop ever created. 

As you ascend 17 stories above Universal Studios Florida and glide at 65 mph, rock out to the music you choose. 

You must select one of the 30 songs from the six categories with the first 30 seconds on the touch screen embedded into each seat’s restraint.

Kang and Kudos’ Twirl ‘N’ Hurl

The Simpsons’ doomed, drooling aliens Kang & Kodos have arrived with a ride that will send your stomach into the stratosphere, so call all Earthlings! 

Fly your saucer around one of the animated alien monsters from Rigel 7 while swooping up and down.

Throughout this two-minute aerial carousel ride on a UFO-shaped vehicle, Kodos engages with you in conversation.

Height restrictions: A supervising adult must accompany children under 48 inches (122 cm).

Men in Black Alien Attack

You recently joined the MIB. It’s now up to you to defend Earth against threatening invaders! 

As soon as they arrive at the MEN IN BLACK top-secret headquarters, trainees jump into action and put their talents to the test by shooting aliens.

Height restrictions: 42 inches (107 cm). A supervising adult must accompany children under 48 inches (122 cm).

Race through New York starring Jimmy Fallon

On a hilarious tour of New York City, square off against Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show and comedian. 

Race through midtown’s congested streets, soar over skyscrapers and even plunge into the East River. Laugh and find out who will ultimately triumph!

Use the virtual line feature on the Universal Orlando official app and you won’t have to stand in a physical line to ride this indoor simulator attraction.

Revenge of the Mummy

This rollercoaster, influenced by the popular Mummy films, takes you on a perilous journey where you must avoid danger at every turn. 

Face your worst fears, including spooky bugs, free falling, terrible darkness, and feeling out of control. 

You can solve riddles and escape old curses if you’re up for it.

Height restrictions: 48 inches (122 cm)

The Simpsons Ride

Take the Simpsons for a joyous journey through Krustyland with “The Simpsons.”

The ride, jam-packed with show characters, also features tons of Simpsons comedy.

Play one of the many carnival games available at the attraction’s entrance to experience the outlandish Krustyland feel of the ride.

Transformers: The Ride 3-D

Prepare yourself for an action-packed journey full of thrills as you find yourself in the heart of a galactic battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. 

As you battle with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee while attempting to keep the AllSpark away from the opposition, everything unfolds right before your eyes.

The novel blend of cutting-edge 3D projection, motion simulation and dramatic fight sequences makes it one of the top rides at Universal Studios Florida.

Animal Actors on location!

This program is usually a fan favorite since it is touching and memorable.

Some of the most outstanding actors and TV stars will make you smile. 

Since the celebrities are dogs, cats, birds, and even pigs, signing autographs could be challenging. 

Discover the techniques and training secrets required to work with animals as performers or celebrities.

The Blue Brothers’ show

Jake and Elwood perform wearing their signature dark suits, sunglasses, and porkpie hats. 

They bring their Chicago attitudes and musical prowess to the stage for a spectacular performance. 

Watch out for Mabel, the waitress who will be singing as Jazz, her saxophone-playing companion, struggles to keep up.

Dreamworks Destination

Several of the most well-known characters from DreamWorks Animation will be present in an entertaining interactive experience.

The characters dance with some dancing human peers on a circular platform with character posters and the recognizable DreamWorks logo.

At Universal Orlando, we have Madagascar, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Kung Fu Panda. You can watch or join them in a dance. 

Pose for a picture with them and enjoy it all while remaining comfortably cool.

The whole experience lasts for about an hour.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley continues its centuries-old activities for hardworking witches and wizards outside Muggles. 

Popular attractions include Harry Potter, Escape from Gringotts, and the Gringotts Money Exchange. 

Put on your cloak at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter because there is much more to it than what is available within Universal Studios Florida.

Springfield U.S.A.

The Simpsons-themed area features two rides, a shop, several eateries and multiple meet-and-greet opportunities. 

The two rides in this area are The Simpsons Ride and Kang and Kodos’ Whirl ‘n’ Hurl.

The Kwik-E-Mart is a well-known standalone store that offers clothes, collectibles, toys, souvenirs, and other goods with Simpsons themes.

The Simpsons Ride takes you on a riotous excursion through Krustyland with The Simpsons.

Woody Woodpecker’s Kid Zone

Designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12; this area hosts two rides, two shows, three play areas, a dining outlet, and three themed stores. 

You might never want to leave Woody Woodpecker’s crazy play area once you enter it. 

It offers the most play area entertainment with 12,500 foam balls, 15,000 gallons of water, toys, and a fun, kid-friendly roller coaster.

Based on the E.T. book series, E.T. Adventure, a dark children’s ride is trendy among millennials. 

Another roller coaster in the area, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, is excellent for little kids who don’t satisfy the height limit for other attractions at Universal Studios Florida.

George the Curious is back to his usual activities. 

This time, it appears that “someone” released all of the circus animals from their trailer, and they are now scattered over the city. 

Join Curious George in this expansive playground that is brimming with entertainment for all ages.

Based on the Curious George book series, the play area is an interactive wet outdoor playground with water cannons and hoses.

Fievel’s Playland

This play area invites children to view the world through Fievel’s eyes.

It has a 30-foot spider web, enormous tin cans, swaying rope bridges, a 1,000-gallon cowboy hat, an enormous cowboy boot, and a 200-foot water slide. 

It is also filled with oversized props from An American Tail, and Fievel Goes West.

Holidays at Universal Orlando

For the holidays, anyone can “Ho-ho-ho” and “Fa-la-la.” But you must amaze up your vacation at Universal Orlando Resort if you want to scream and laugh silly.  

Join in on the celebrations in both lands as Christmas is celebrated in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. 

Go to Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s to see the massive balloons. Have fun watching “The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular.”

During this separately paid event, experience frightful haunted homes, dark scare zones, outrageous live entertainment, and some of the park’s most thrilling rides. 

It would help to have someone to cling to, hide behind, and panic alongside. 

There is one thing to keep in mind at Halloween Horror Nights: Never attend alone. This is because, exactly as in horror movies, the first person to walk off meets a dreadful fate.

This program is not recommended for children under 13 and may be too intense for young children.
No masks or costumes are allowed.
